Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are prepared and shipped by an independent, state-licensed compounding pharmacy. Brand pens are not sold or shipped by TrimRX: the provider writes the prescription and the patient fills it at a pharmacy of their choice, with the program price covering the consult.
The FDA resolved the semaglutide shortage on April 22, 2025. Compounding is permitted only for individually identified patients when a prescribing practitioner determines that the compounded preparation produces a significant difference for their patient compared to the FDA-approved product.
